I decided to start something new with the wallpaper calendars for your computers. Going forward I’m going to try to include two different wallpapers for you to enjoy, one will be showcasing the San Francisco Giants and the other will feature the Minor League San Jose Giants. I’m hoping to accomplish a few goals by taking this approach, the first being to allow some variety in the wallpapers available to you, second showcasing the San Jose Giants who graciously provided media access to myself so as to be able to take some unique and amazing shots, and finally to showcase players that may one day be seen playing at AT&T Park. This month will feature the ballpark of these two teams.
San Jose Municipal Stadium, or Muni for short, is the home to the SJ Giants minor league baseball team. The stadium sits close to Downtown San Jose and has the intimate feel of the San Francisco Giants Spring Training facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. The size of the stadium and layout of the grounds allows fans to see the players up close in a way that would be unimaginable at a Major League ballpark.
In 2000 the San Francisco Giants moved into PacBell Park, later later renamed to SBC Park, and now known as AT&T Park, after a 39 year tenure at Candlestick Park. AT&T Park has been touted as one of the best ballparks in the MLB for it’s amazing views of the San Francisco Bay, the way that there’s not a bad seat in the house, the way it’s a throwback to iconic ballparks such as Wrigley Field, Camden Yards, and others, the selection of foods that sport both local and national influences, are just a few of the reasons why this ballpark is one that fans of baseball make sure to visit.
